A special cause - {Blogtoberfest day 13}

I showed you a look at what I had been working on here yesterday. Well here's what it's all about...

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, you can purchase lots of different pink items which go towards the NBCF.

I'm doing my part by donating this OOAK BCA Frog. The auction starts on October 17th, 8pm over on La Crafts Facebook page.  Check out all the gorgeous pink themed handmade creations available. If you wish to vote for my frog head on over here!

I am thankful that no one close to me has been affected by breast cancer but I know many friends who have.

LA Crafts Breast Cancer Awareness Auction Donation

Isn't he/she cute, Master 4 wanted it for himself but I had to gently explain to him it was for something very special, he happily gave it up, bless his little cotton socks ♥.

In other news, how awesome is the weather in Melbourne, it's luffly. What's the weather like where you are?

Good news, I have a couple of tutorials in the works, they are christmas themed so stay tuned! I'm a little excited.

Oh and before I forget I will be doing my first real life market in December! Huckleberry Market is a new baby's and children market which is holding their first market in Croydon December 4th! It will be at Croydon Leisure Centre, which is a great venue. I will have a few different items for sale as, there will also be a selection from some other crafty friends of mine, there will be some lovely handmade items, I can't wait! As the time draws closer to the market I'll let you know all the details but for now keep the 4th free!!!!

Till next time, keep crafting! xx

Crafty Crushes - {Blogtoberfest Day 12}

Do you have a crafty crush? I have a few. They are who inspire me every time I read their blog, meet them in person and receive and item they've created!

{source}
 My first crafty crush would have to be Pip Lincolne from Meet me at mikes! Did you catch her on the circle this morning? She was great! I am desperate to get her books, they are just gorgeous! Watch it here. I would love love love to see her do a weekly/fortnightly segment on the circle about new crafts, quick how to's, she's a natural!

My second crafty crush would have to be Jodie Carleton from RicRac, I have a few of her patterns and am continuing to collect more. They are just the most gorgeous, one of a kind softies perfect for anyone big or small in your life or indeed yourself! Dare I say she is a creative genius! Love love love her work and can't speak highly enough of it.You can purchase Ric Rac patterns from any good fabric store or online, google them!

 My third would have to be Nic James from Yardage Design, I first met and heard of Nic and yardage design when I was her booth buddy/neighbour at the Stitches and Craft incub8tor market a couple of years ago. Not only does she print everything herself she uses the best base fabrics and inks! I have a few of her fabrics but I don't want to cut them up and they are so pretty! Nic gave up a career in science to focus her full attention on yardage design. I admire her for following her crafty passion and making it a business for herself, but it does take a lot of hard work and pure talent! You can purchase her gorgeous fabrics here.

Who's your crafty crush? I would love to know.

Now for something I've been working on!

This little creature has been made especially for a special fund-raiser I'll let you know about soon, it's fairly obvious what its a fund raiser for, breast cancer of course! This month is breast cancer awareness month.

Till next time, keep crafting! xo

The week that was…

I’ve decided that every Sunday I do a post titled “The week that was” where I can recap happenings from the past week, stuff I did blog about, stuff I forgot or stuff I didn’t think was interesting enough to blog about during the week LOL.
ooooooooooO0Ooooooooooo
I found out I was accepted into the Croydon Huckleberry Market in Dec (more details to come). YAY ME!
I finally got started on my breast cancer donation (photo’s to come).
I taught myself after many years trying to teach my self on and off how to knit finally! So far I’ve learn…
  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Stockinette Stitch
  • Cast on and off
  • Rib Stitch
I purchased some different size needles and come yummy yarn to make my first ever knitted creation ( granted it’s a scarf but still, baby steps) (Oh and don’t remind me that I have chosen to take up a winter hobby at the beginning of spring!).
Realised if you don’t do thing things won’t get done…
Took Master N to get his 4 year old needles which nearly broke my heart, then comforted my rather sick 4 year old which were caused by the a fore mentioned needles.
Signed my self up to Blogtoberfest (which I missed the first day of, but am making up for it by doing two posts in one day! Go Me!).
Finally got around to calling a child care centre to book myself in for placement so I can finally finish my course, I start Wednesday!)
Came up with an exciting business idea, again it’s something which all benefits and feeds into the dream I have for owning my own creative business. (More to come soon!)
Making a decision to get serious about blogging, I would like to use this blog as a creative outlet, a journal to look back on and perhaps a means of earning some $$ to help my little family obtain our goals.
Realised that if I can’t get it right the first time doesn’t mean the world is going to end nor do I move onto the next thing, try try again.
Found that contact doesn’t work very well as a mask when trying to paint a design on fabric, back to the drawing board on that one.
Seeing that there are new dates for the screen printing workshop I want to do in October YAY!
Found some really awesome and inspiring blogs to stalk, I mean read!
Refrained from throwing myself off the closest bridge (thankfully we don’t have bridges close by) when my beloved pies lost the grand final yesterday, waaaahhhhhaaaaaaaa!

And because I hate blogging with out pictures here is a pic of my beautiful cat scout ♥.
Well that was the week that was, see you tomorrow with more of my craft adventures, till then, keep crafting xx
